Dịch thuật

Dịch thuật không phải là một nghề dễ dàng. Điều cốt yếu của dịch thuật là truyền đạt được chính xác ý tưởng từ bản gốc hoặc khiến cho bản dịch suôn sẻ mà vẫn giữ được nội dung ban đầu. Các dịch giả chuyên nghiệp đều biết đến những phương pháp dịch thuật thông dụng như: dịch sát nghĩa, dịch văn chương, dịch trung thực, dịch ngữ nghĩa, phỏng dịch, dịch tự do, dịch thành ngữ, hay dịch giao tiếp. Một bản dịch được xem là thành công khi nó chuyển tải chính xác, đầy đủ hàm ý và ẩn ý của ngữ nguồn. Dịch thuật đòi hỏi người dịch có khả năng đọc hiểu ngữ nguồn, diễn đạt toàn diện cũng như lựa chọn cách diễn đạt phù hợp khi chuyển sang ngữ đích. Bất kỳ dịch giả nào cũng cần quen thuộc với văn hóa của cả hai ngôn ngữ để cho ra đời bản dịch hay. Họ cần trang bị kiến thức về thuật ngữ trong các lĩnh vực chuyên ngành và khả năng hoàn thiện sản phẩm theo giới hạn thời gian và theo tiêu chuẩn nhất định.

Translation

Translation is not an easy job. An important key factor is to give the exact idea about the original work or to make it sound good according to the nature of the context. Any professional translator would know some of the common methods of translation: word-for-word translation, literal translation, faithful translation, semantic translation, adaptation, free translation, idiomatic translation, or communicative translation. A translation is considered successful when it conveys the explicit and implicit meaning of the source language to the target language as fully and accurately as possible. Translation requires the translators to be able to read and comprehend the source language, and write comprehensively as well as choose the equivalent expression in the target language. Familiarity with the cultural context of both languages is a condition for any translator to have good translation. They also need preparation of knowledge of terminology in specialized fields and ability to finalize the product within time constraints and according to specifications
