Phiên dịch lần lượt

Phiên dịch lần lượt, hay dịch đuổi (consecutive interpretation) là hình thức phiên dịch được thực hiện khi người nói nói xong một câu và dừng lại để người dịch dịch sang ngôn ngữ đích, người dịch và người nói lần lượt làm công việc của họ. Trong hình thức này, người dịch có thể tạm ngừng người nói, hoặc yêu cầu họ lặp lại, giải thích để đảm bảo độ chính xác khi dịch. Người dịch có thể thỏa thuận trước với người nói về nội dung bài nói, về độ dài của một câu trong phát ngôn để đảm bảo hiệu quả cao cho bản dịch.

Phiên dịch lần lượt đòi hỏi người dịch có khả năng ghi nhớ trong thời gian ngắn ( short- term memory ) kết hợp với khả năng ghi chú (take-notes ) thì mới truyền tải hết nội dung trong văn bản của người nói.

Consecutive interpretation translation

Consecutive interpretation is a type of interpretation where a speaker stops some speech and then an interpreter starts translating the source language into the target language. The speaker and the interpreter must always work in a consecutive order. In this type, interpreter can interrupt speaker for some times and ask for more clarification to guarantee high precision. The interpreter can discuss with speaker in advance about the content of the speech, length of a sentence to guarantee most efficiency of the translation version.

Consecutive interpretation requires short-term memory and note-taking skill from interpreters to convey the content of the speech with best result.
